A little history...
International TranScript grew out of a dissatisfaction with the crop of magazines available
in the transgender community in the late 80's and early 90's. LadyLike was positioned as "entertainment" and, as such, serious articles just do not seem to fit into its personality. Other community publications were (a) ugly, (b) badly written , (c) badly edited, or (d) all of the above. And none had a truly international flavor.
I was going to change all that. To make a long story really short, ITS failed for a variety of reasons, not the least of which was a recession. I lost $4,000 on this effort. But it taught me a lot about magazines, editing, and business. ITS lives on in the new and improved LadyLike .
For now, here are the remains of the best magazine in the transgender community published at the time.
